As it was Pancake Day today the children in the Grizzly Bear Room enjoyed some delicious homemade pancakes and various delicious fillings. 🥞
We all sat down together and the children all chose what fillings they wanted. This was really enjoyable for children and staff. A big thank you to our amazing cook Lisa who made us all a pancake each for us to enjoy today. ☺️🌈🐻

Valentine’s Day - We’ve been enjoying themed activities all week! Today, we created a red sensory tuff tray filled with various materials for the children to explore. Additionally, we organised a fun activity in the garden where the children could collect hearts with different textures. We encouraged them to use key vocabulary like ‘rough’ and ‘smooth’ to help enhance their language skills. ❤️💌🌹

During circle time, the children expressed their enthusiasm for the story of The Three Little Pigs.

We created houses using card and different materials, allowing the children to unleash their creativity. We discussed shapes, colours, and our own homes. Today, the children had a wonderful time improving

Today, the children had a wonderful time improving their fine motor skills! They used tweezers to move pins from trays to bowls and even balanced them on tape. We explored language by discussing colours and using descriptive words like ‘blue’ and ‘sparkly’. Great job, Polar Bears! Our children in our Grizzly room were well engaged in group play activities. Our tuff tray was filled with Peppa Pig families, red play dough, glitter, and many other resources. As Valentine’s Day is approaching soon, we aim to show love to others and our loving families in different ways, such as by giving cards or other presents. We also encourage the children to use words to extend their vocabularies, such as love, glitter, red, Valentine, and sprinkle glitter. This play also enhances their fine motor skills, allowing them to play as a group, develop positive interactions with one another, and make friends. This morning we set up a range of activities for the children to play, learn and explore. We had Valentine’s play dough ❤️ to feel and make different sized hearts and shapes with as well as decorating our home corner with some Valentine’s day decorations ready for next week.
We created a “Three little pigs” 🐷 muddy tuff tray with brown gloop imitating mud for the children to explore and role play.

As an enhancement to the book of the month “The Three Little Pigs”. We experimented using cocktail sticks and marshmallows to “build” and “construct” shapes. We talked about the pig who used sticks to build and it being a bit “tricky”. The children used their fine motor skills to manipulate the sticks into different positions creating numerous shapes. Our preschoolers visited our local farm to collect sticks for a bird’s nest 🪺 and to visit the three little pigs! 🐷 We were able to name different animals, practice our road safety skills 🚦 and use teamwork to gather lots of sticks! Well done preschool! 🌈🐻 #eyfs #listeningandattention

Chinese New Year - Dragon Dance 🐉🧧

Pre School worked hard on their expressive arts and design by creating a Chinese dragon for their “Dragon Dancing” activity in the nursery garden. The children eagerly participated, taking turns wearing the dragon costume and playing the instruments. It was wonderful to see them so engaged and excited. Great job, Pre-School! Our polar bears thoroughly enjoyed our sensory activities, which included both water and sand, alongside other sensory materials. We arranged a sensory table brimming with various objects for the children to explore and discover different textures. They particularly enjoyed hiding cars in the water and digging for treasure in the sand. The children were excited to pour water using jugs and had a delightful time constructing sandcastles. Additionally, some of the children engaged with the sensory table, fascinated by the glow rollers, and used their imagination to create a tower with two of them! #eyfs #sand #water #sensory #grossmotorskills 🌈🐻

This afternoon in the Panda Bear room we have been

This afternoon in the Panda Bear room we have been very busy creating a Chinese Dragon in celebration of Chinese New Year! First we talked about Chinese new year and how it is celebrated then watched a video of some Chinese dragons and dancing. The children were eager to get involved and gathered around as they painted the different sized boxes red to start. We got a little bit messy doing this so had a big hand washing session afterwards. Then it was time to decorate the dragon, we added coloured tissue, paper, stickers and tin foil using glue and spatulars. The children added teeth and we put two small boxes on top to make the eyes. Well done Pre School! Great teamwork! 🐲🧧🎊🏮 Our Chinese new year celebrations continue tomorrow ….
